ABOUT LYNNE O’CONNOR
Throughout her career, Lynne has applied her innate ability to communicate with people across all tiers of technical expertise to bridge the gap between software developers and end-users as a “cultural liaison” by writing computer software manuals and help systems and providing technical support and hardware/software training.
In the mid-1990s, Lynne found the Internet to be the perfect medium in which to exercise her aptitude in technology and promotion, and incorporate her artistic skills, by developing websites and Internet marketing campaigns for employers and clients.
During the evolution of the Internet into the Web 2.0 era and the rise of social media, Lynne continued to keep her finger on the pulse of new technology and its impact on contemporary culture. She started her own Internet marketing firm in 2008 and became a Certified Inbound Marketing Professional in 2009.
Now, with a portfolio that includes technical and creative communication, website design, print and digital graphic design, video and audio production, and social media marketing, Lynne is ready to make her next career move in Technical Writing and Marketing Communications.
Lynne begins working in marketing and promotions by helping her mother with the family-owned dance studio and gets her hands on new technology when her stepfather, and electronics technician, teaches her how to solder solid state electronic circuitry, build a radio on a breadboard, and play text-based “adventure” games on a Teletype terminal.
Lynne graduates a year early from high school (later to find out that her GPA of 4.823/5.000 ranked her 12th in her class – in the top 3% – when everyone else finished high school) and tests into the highest level math class open to freshmen (Advanced Calculus) at Arizona State University. She moves from rural Illinois to Arizona to begin coursework for a Computer Science Engineering degree.
A core class in CSE (assembly language) gets the better of Lynne and she changes her major to Business. She puts herself through school by working 30+ hours a week and with the help of government financial aid, completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from ASU.
